Sustainable entrepreneurship is becoming increasingly important. At Webship, we also place a strong focus on sustainability and responsible business practices. For instance, we use biodegradable boxes and filling materials. As a fulfilment center, we process many e-commerce orders daily, resulting in significant CO2 emissions from transport. This is a factor we have less control over, as it depends on our shipping partners. Still, we believe it’s important to take responsibility. Since we can’t directly influence our partners’ material choices, we looked for other ways to contribute. That’s how we discovered the OOOT project: One Order, One Tree!
What is OOOT?
You can take the name quite literally: for every order we ship for a participating fulfilment client, we plant one tree. OOOT is part of the “Forest Garden Solution” project by the American NGO “Trees for the Future.” This project goes far beyond simply planting trees. Its mission is to fight poverty by planting trees in developing countries.
Local farmers receive a four-year training in forest, soil, and environmental management. Through smart planting strategies, their fields become fertile again and yield more profitable harvests. The project not only contributes to global CO2 reduction but also boosts local economies, with the ultimate goal of ensuring farmers receive fair compensation and maintain fertile land for decades.

Why Webship supports the project
Our mission is simple and crystal clear: for every order shipped, we want to plant a tree. This is our way of contributing to a better planet—for people, animals, and the environment. Shipping an order, especially the “last mile,” has a significant impact on the Earth, considering the packaging materials and CO2 emissions. As a fulfilment center, we share in that responsibility, so we looked for ways to offset it. That search led us to the OOOT project. By planting trees, we can reduce CO2 emissions while also improving lives around the world.
Who is OOOT for?
The OOOT project is for online stores that want to significantly reduce their carbon footprint—but also for partners who want to build a better planet and a brighter future for those who need it most. When we join forces, even small contributions can make a big difference. While planting one tree per order is symbolically powerful, the impact goes far beyond symbolism.
Can I register my webshop for the project?
Participating in this project can help reduce your ecological footprint. This isn’t about a one-time donation but rather a long-term mindset and approach. You can share this philosophy with your customers—and it may even be a reason for them to choose your webshop. Participation is of course possible, and here’s what you get in return:
- One tree planted for every order processed
- Mention on our OOOT website
- A dedicated partner page (e.g., “Drone Kopen”)
- A sticker on each order with a link to the OOOT project and partner overview
- A communication label you can use (website, social, print, etc.) linking to your partner page
